Update from the Commodore

To the WRBC Members,

RE:     UPDATE ON THE HARBOR

This is an FYI for any member who is still launching to fish or hunt.

REGARDING DEPTH OF CHANNEL:

It has been brought to my attention from several Club Members that the channel leading out to the main lake is now sanded in to a depth of a 1 foot to 1 1/2 feet.  Several boats have bottomed out and I have sent a notice to the City as of today 12-11-2015.  I don't know when the City is planning on dredging, but I do know they have the money and the budget to get this done.

Please be careful upon entering and exiting the dock to the lake.

REGARDING ICE EATERS:

The Ice Eaters are now in place and they have been positioned differently from last year.  They are attached to long yellow pipes that stretch across the dock, please be careful not to run into them or to trip over them.

REGARDING NUMBERS ON BOATS & TRAILERS:

As I usually do, I drive through the park several times a week, and unfortunately have found several boats and trailers without numbers on them.  This is a violation of our posted Rules and By-Laws.  I have left notes on the windshields of those who did not have numbers posted. I have also the names from the red stickers and we will discuss this at our first meeting in 2016.  This isn't meant to be an inconvenience, it is a safety issue.  If you are out on the lake and you have a problem or you don't return for what ever reason, we can give the Coast Guard an accurate name and type of boat they will be searching for.  I am asking you all to please comply with this issue. We have discussed and reminded everyone at almost every meeting how important this is.  We will have to discuss a remedy to this problem if it continues.

On a better note, wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and Safe Boating.
