COMMODORES UPDATE: WALLEYE STOCKING IN WOLF LAKE - TRANSIENT PIER REMOVAL - DREDGING

TO:   All WRBC Members

SUBJECTS:  WALLEYE STOCKING IN WOLF LAKE - TRANSIENT PIER REMOVAL - DREDGING

RE:    WALLEYE STOCKING IN WOLF LAKE

I was informed by Perch America that again this fall there will be another stocking of walleye fingerlings. This will occur Saturday, November 13, 2021 at approximately 11AM.  They are intending to release 5,000 new baby walleye at the pier behind the pavilion at Wolf Lake.  Anyone who would like to go and observe and possibly participate is more than welcome.  The WRBC also donates money each year to these stockings.

RE:    TRANSIENT PIER REMOVAL

I spoke with the City of Whiting's Joe Franko several days ago about the removal of the floating transient piers and gang plank. He said his plans are to have these removed by sometime next week.  This year they will be stacked closer by the life guard station.

RE:    DREDGING

I also spoke with Joe Franko about the future plans on dredging.  As you can see now, the sands are above water level.  He informed me that all the paper work is in place to be done this coming Spring 2022. If anything changes he said he would let me know so that we can stay informed.

See you all in January at the 2022 Election Dinner which will be held at the Whiting's American Legion, Post 80.  More information to follow at a later date.

Thank you for another great year and Happy Holidays.
