COMMODORE NOTES UPDATE

RE: CLUB HOUSE CLEAN UP, JET SKI RACE, TRAILER PARKING, SAFETY BOAT INSPECTION, KIDS FISHING DAY

1.  This is just a reminder that we are going to have a building & grounds clean up this coming Saturday, June 24, 2017. It will start at 10 am and continue until we are done. This includes inside and outside cleaning, raking grounds and overall sprucing up of our building and grounds.

2.  I will be having a meeting next week with Mark Harbin and Gene Stephens head of the jet ski race. We will be discussing our issues that were decided on June 15th, 2017 at a meeting that was held with the Board of Directors and the Officers. These issues surround around safety and providing our building for their function.

3.  I received a call this morning Thursday-6/22/2017 from the City of Whiting, informing me that the trailer parking area will be reduced to 18 to 20 spots. This is due to the parking issues that they anticipate for this new floating water park. As I was told, parking is becoming a premium at the lakefront. In our discussion I was able to guarantee 18 to 20 trailer spots. Any member that should happen to want to launch, even if all trailer parking is full, the City will provide us special parking. Please bear with me, as I do not have a lot of control over this parking issue. More discussion will be held at our next meeting on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.

4.  I spoke with the Calumet City Harbor Coast Guard and we will be doing a boat safety inspection sometime in August. I know this is a little late, but David Mosca was in an extremely bad accident, so we had to set this up without his help this year. The date to be determined. I hope you all are enjoying a good summer so far and look forward to seeing you all at our next meeting Tuesday, June 27, 2017.

Til Then,

Mike Hill WRBC Commodore

P.S. The Kids Fish Outing was again another great success. Thank you to Jim Madison and all the Volunteers who put this function together and made it again a great success. Thank you to Cabela's for their continued support. Pictures of Kids Fish Outing will be on the website and we will share more at our meeting this month.
